PTI March Blog Hop: Sequin

Hi, fellow crafty friends,

I have a quick card to share with you.

This card is for Papertrey Ink's March 2013 Blog Hop challenge.
They asked us to create a card with sequins.

I am so excited to be able to join the March 2013 Blog Hop. This is my first card I submitted to PTI's blog hop and this time I did only use PTI inkpads on this card but I wish I could play along with their stamps and die templates next time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Enjoy your craft time with sequins.

Remembering my boombox

Hello, friends

This week's mission over at CASology is about song.
CASology Week 36: song

There is a story behind this card.

I am the generation who grew up listening to radio with a boombox or home audio component. Back then in the late 80' and the early 90' in South Korea, those two were common music devices and other advanced ones such as MP3 players or portable cd players had not yet been introduced. So you could imagine that I, a junior/ high school student,(woops, I'm revealing my age here, hehe!) spent most of the nights listening to some good radio stations that continued to play most popluar Korean songs of the time. When I think back on those days, songs I listened to soothed me while I went through puberty with emontional storms.

20 years later, now we live in the world of revolution in terms of music devices. Who would even think that there comes a time when most people listen to the music with much much more advanced and revolutionary tools of Ipod, Ipod nano, Iphone, and so on...(maybe Steve Jobs, not me :D)?

In my card I wanted to express the moment of reflection: I am looking back to those days when I listened to music with my boombox while I am listening to my Ipot. Hope you could also take some time of those days of your life looking at my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

CFC 93, Life is like Art.

Hi friends,

I have one more card to go with challenge #93: color blocks over at Cas-ual Fridays.

This card was inspired by an artist, Piet Mondrian.
Here are some of his art works that gave me an inspiration to make the card.

CFC 93: block of colors with Inch stamp

Popping in to share one more card with you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love to hear from you.

CFC 93: COLOR BLOCKS with INCH STAMP

Hi craft friends,

I have one more card to share with you which I submitted to #93 challenge at Cas-ual Fridays.

This time, I interpreted the given color blocks with inch clear stamps from Inkadingkado.

CFC 93, back to stamping basics

Hi Friends,

This week's challenge at Cas-ual Fridays is to create CAS craft projects by using the suggested color blocks.

I took it on in a very simple way.

I pulled out my old SU stamp from the stash because I was looking for an image that was able to cover the entire card. If the stamp image is large enough I could divide it into 4 to 5 parts and apply color blocks along the division.

This card reminds me of the early days of my stamping journey. Those days, I spent most of my time simply in inking and stamping. I played with several ink pads and white card stock for cardmaking till I was introduced to the new world of embelishment. But I remember that the simple work of stamping gave me a great joy and happiness. I am glad that I can continue to make cards with a simple stamping.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Hope you enjoy my card.

CFC 92: a table calendar in a business card case

I have one more entry for CFC 92.

*I also entered this project in Word Art Wednesday Challenge #69: Anthing Goes.

This time, I created not a card but something else.
It is a table calendar with a matching business size case.
To make this small, business card sized calendar, I printed out 2013 calendar on a patterned paper by Tim Holtz. It's a 12*12 double sided paper that one side is filled with Christmas/Valentine images and the other side has rustic cream color. I used this creme color side for printing calendar and stamping background images and sentiment. I trimmed the paper into 11*81/2 so that the paper could work well with my printer.

After printing 2013 calendar on the paper I cut the paper into 12 pieces by each month. Then, to create a background for each month, I stamped two images: one is Just Chillin Girl clear stamp from Making Memories and the other is a paint splatter cling rubber stamp from Gormet Rubber stamp.

For the sentiment, I used a clear stamp I owned over for 7 years but my all-the-time- favorite, Stampendous' Inspired Verse set.

And

all these things are together...

The end result is beyond my expectation and I am glad that my first project besides cards turned out very good.

Thank you so much for dropping by my blog. Hope you enjoy my calendar.

CFC92 and LIM 110: Valentine Card from Bible passage

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've uploaded my last posting on this blog.
I was simply too busy to find crafting times.
The time I save for cardmaking is so precious to me. When I make cards I am able to be rejuvenated from any stresses at work, to meet my creative spirits, and to be connected to other souls who seek for aspiration and inspiration. I believe crafting time provides me an optimal soothing (and at the same time an optimal challenging) space for my soul. :)

I was a bit driven by a spirutal mood today so the card I made seemed to be drawn to the mood.

This card is for Valentine's Day. For the background, I used a paint splatter image stamp from Gourmet rubber stamps. And the message stamp is from clear dollar stamp which I think a genius idea. What a creative person who designs this kind of stamp! Don't you agree with me on this? This stamp is amazing that you could find an encoding message, Valentine from the Bible verse, John 3:16.

I entered this card into the challenge #92: wallpaper at Cas-ual Fridays.
They asked us to create my own CAS background with stamping.

I lately added this card to the challenge at Less is More
For this week's challenge is about One layer + Spots and Stripes.

This card might not show dots and stripes directly but
I would rather take the challenge on in an abstract way.
So the dots in my card are not a perfect circle but I could say
the dots expressed in splattery painting images.
Then, where are stripes? Could we consider the sentiment as stripes?
Each line of Bible words looked like a stripe to me.
(You could see at least one vertical line of stripe, VALENTINE
which I highlighted with w1 copic marker) hehe! :)
Hope my way of taking on it will be acceptable.

After seeing all design teams' samples, the irregular pattern I created for the background is concerning me a little bit. Hope the irregularity on the card is acceptable. :)

* I also entered this card in Word Art Wednesday Challenge #69: Anything Goes.

Thanks for drop-by. Hope you enjoy my card and get a little bit of inspiration.
